Nauvoo to Salt Lake City

It's all in your MIND...

I've been waiting for 6 months for this and now that's it's here, I'm wishing I had more time. Jake's graduating from AIT, FINALLY! Which means packing EVERYTHING and heading back to Las Vegas.

This really would not be quite as daunting of a task, if it were not for the fact that Las Vegas is not the ending destination, but only the BEGINNING.

From Las Vegas, we head to Fort Huachuca, then back to Las Vegas, and then we move to Fort Hood. Basically, we will be traveling/moving for 3 weeks, with few breaks in between. On top of all that, the girls and I could be heading back to Salem, shortly after we get to Fort Hood, if Jake is deployed.

Thank goodness that the Army is going to be moving our furniture and other home necessities, because I'm pretending that this is all just one REALLY long vacation/road trip. That's the only way I've been able to wrap my mind around it all. When I try to sit down and contemplate that we, possibly, will be moving all the way to Texas, to find out Jake's being deployed right off, and the girls and I turn around and move back to Oregon, all in less than a month, I begin to TWITCH and HYPERVENTILATE.

I have really mixed feelings about when I want Jake to be deployed. Initially, I want him to be home for at least 4 to 6 months, because I miss him and want to spend time with him as a family. But, if Jake were deployed immediately, we would be able to pay off the credit cards, the car and Jake's student loans, this next year. Then, when he gets home, we're basically debt free, short of the condo.

So, my HOPE is that, once we find out Jake's unit, we'll be able to find out that his deployment date is at least 2 to 3 months away. Then, we can have some family time together before he's gone again, and still be able to pay off our debts by the end of next year.

Here's to hoping...
